I loves me a simple breakfast with some scattered, smothered covered, chunked, and peppered! Although usually I'm enjoying it in the early hours of the morning where my sense of taste is uhh... heightened. Instead, I was up and out early on the weekend and the Junction down the street already had half of Park Circle standing outside for a table. I wanted breakfast. I wanted it quick and I wanted it close by. Waffle House became my best option real quick.
As I came in, I realized I was not the only one with this bright idea. Luckily I snagged a couple seats at the bar where you get a glimpse of all the action. I was impressed. This place is a well oiled breakfast machine. Every guests food is cooked to order and there isn't a moment to think about what the next step is. It's like they're on autopilot but also ready for anything you throw at them.
I had a coffee, chocolate milk (a breakfast must), a waffle to share, and a two egg breakfast with some bacon on the side. The food was honestly great. Sometimes you don't need a quail eggs benedict with avocado drizzle for brunch. Sometimes all you need is some eggs, toast, and a couple of sides. On top of all that our server, along with everyone else, was as sweet as the syrup topping those fluffy waffles. Waffle House holds its own in the breakfast world and not just at two in the morning! -

First off, this waffle house always has service with a smile. They were open during Dorian with a limited cash only menu. The staff STILL verbally greeted everyone who walked through the door, the staff were STILL smiling and STILL giving good service even in the dark. It's waffle house the food is simple, quick, hot, unpretentious breakfast and I appreciate the establishment and the staff for it.

This is more for the folks who were working as opposed to the food. I actually didnt eat there. I went the Friday after Dorian skirted Charleston, and they were open, but with a limited menu and only accepted cash. I had no cash, but the lady behind the counter was so pleasant and polite in describing where they were currently and though I decided not to stay, I appreciated the genuine kindness. I typically only eat at Waffle House when some kind of disaster comes through, natural or otherwise. So heres to me never eating at Waffle House again! (lol not really kind of..)

This new Waffle House is just off 526 on North Rhett and has plenty of parking. I stopped by early Friday morning as I was hungry, and there was nothing for breakfast at home to help. When alone I like sitting at the counter, so I stepped right up. An immediate great and the server asked me I wanted to drink, that's the way to get it started. Having enjoyed many a Waffle Houses around the south in my life, I knew what I wanted. A waffle first, appetizer right, then ham and cheese omelet. With 5 other customers already here, my order appeared in timely fashion. I then enjoyed my waffle with my coffee, followed by my cheesy soft omelet. Mmm!
This location is bright, clean and has the service you expect. The food is hot, filling and good. Enjoy. -

Every location I stop by defines what the word consistency means. Consistent good service, consistent easy to order menu, consistent good coffee and consistent good breakfast meals, served up hot and fast.
I'm an All Star guy typically as I love my runny yolks when they run into my grits. but on this day I strayed a bit and ordered up a bowl of the chili with mushroom, onions -- scattered, smothered, hovered -- I forgot the precise terminology.
That bowl disappeared so quickly, I could have eaten it with a doll house spoon and had it down the hatch in a moment or two.
Thats good eats!
